A Cedartown man escaped serious injury after his car overturned on Highway 100 last Friday night.

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), David Wayne of Cedartown was driving his 2003 Mazda on north on Highway 100 around 8:20 p.m. when the wreck occurred.

Officials said Wayne didn’t maintain the lane and veered over to the east side of the road where he struck an embankment and overturned the car.

While he complained of a possible injury, reports indicate he did not need to be taken to a hospital.

Wayne was cited for failure to maintain lane, officials said.
